I knew there was sun shining behind clouds. Yesterday we awoke to a cloudy morning but by mid-morning the clouds went away albeit only on a day trip as they returned this morning.
But yesterday! Wow! Not only was the sun shining but it was considerably warmer, and WE LOVED IT! After watching the F1 race we escaped the house for a walk…in the sun and warmth! Not sure I had mentioned that before. 😉
Just look at that gorgeous bright blue sky!
We walked up to the stone hut with the Irises on its roof. We know they won’t be there for long so we have to take advantage of it.
After I posted this blog about the stone hut, our friend/neighbor Kim told us that in Normandy, France it is quite common to plant Irises on the thatched roofs. The roots help anchor the reed thatching. How wonderful!!
So gorgeous!
Oh to be amongst flowers on a sunny day.
As if the beautiful walk wasn’t enough to make for a great day…we then had a fabulous 6.5-hour lunch at our neighbor Yuko’s home. Yes, 6.5 hours. That’s how we do it here in the village. Great food, great friends, great wine, lots and lots and lots of laughter and then, just like that, it is 6 or 7 hours later.
