Yesterday was a day to just be. Be together. Be still. Be alone in thought. Be in the hammock. Be in the garden.
A lazy day of pottering about. Doing what we wanted to do but not doing what we didn’t want to do. Leaving the to-do list untouched. Not glancing at it to add items to it or to check things off. The to-do list would be there another day.
I spent a lot of time recharging my inspiration battery. Reading. Writing out quotes that I found. Writing in my journal. Thinking. Dreaming. Pondering. Resting.
I saw this quote on Facebook this morning and it fits yesterday perfectly.
And every day,
the world will drag you
by the hand, yelling,
“This is important!
And this is important!
You need to worry about this
And this! And this!”
And each day, it’s up to you
to yank your hand back,
put it on your heart and say,
“No. This is what’s important.”
How very true! A reminder to take care of ourselves. To take charge of our lives.
Yes, the to-do list is there today. And we have checked things off of it. It was nice not to wake up and freak out thinking of all the things that didn’t get done yesterday.
The most important thing got done yesterday. We listened to our hearts and spent the day doing what we wanted and needed. A day to just be.
