It’s all about the weather. This time last week we were aware that Storm Gloria was going to bring high winds and rain for several days. What to do? Well, enjoy the sunshine while we could, of course.
Saturday we went for a long walk. We made sure to visit the large Almond tree and take some photos. As we were expecting high winds for several days we knew a lot of the blossoms would be gone soon.
I love the color of the Oak trees right now. Such a gorgeous contrast.
My morning walk on Sunday was greeted by wind and a brooding sky.
Monday afternoon we made a quick trip to Sitges to run an errand. The wind was getting stronger and the waves were churning. But it was the eerie alien-like sunlight that I liked.
Do you see the little rainbow?
When we arrived home we found that the alien-like sunlight was here as well.
Tuesday was the worst of the weather. 30mph winds with gusts over 45mph (48kph gusting to over 74kph). A perfect day to watch the storm from the warmth and safety of home. The night brought an incredible thunderstorm and lots of lightning.
We had a few trees go down around the vineyard including this one down the lane past our bedroom. Thankfully it fell with the roots intact and on Wednesday it was transplanted in the main square of the village. 🙂
Wednesday we ventured out to the grocery store before the next wave.
Thursday, the storm had passed but left remnants of its torment. We were/are extremely lucky compared to a lot of places in the country. This was a crazy storm that left 12 people dead and 4 still missing. It caused incredible widespread damage.
Friday and I could get back to my routine. My morning walk was met with new Almond blossoms blooming, slippery mud to navigate, and the sun rising to a crystal clear sky.
All about the weather…indeed.
there were still blossoms!!! Hooray!
It was beautiful and amazing!
