While out for our walk yesterday in the vineyard we stopped by the stone hut with the Irises that grow out of the roof. We know the Irises won’t last much longer so we need to enjoy them while we can.
I wonder who planted the first bulb.
I love this photo that Bob captured.
There were also some Irises at the base of the stone hut blooming amongst the rosemary.
Some Irises have finally bloomed along the path to the stone hut.
I love the one that is also just about to open.
Of course, there are other flowers blooming.
Or preparing to spread their seeds in the next gust of wind.
I love these ones. They look furry inside.
These bloomed in a plowed field. Bloom where you are planted.
I remember these from last year but I wasn’t keen to walk through the blackberry brambles to get a closer view.
The color of these is so intense.
And the best part of our walk today…seeing our first bee-fly (anastoechus nitidulus)
He or is that a she is so fluffy wuffy!
Then around to see the beautiful snapdragons before their Spring showing has ended. I was up there a couple of weeks ago and there was only one. Now there are so many but they are already at the end of their cycle.
We know the Spring wildflowers won’t last forever so we need to enjoy them while they are here.
gorgeous flower photos!
