Hello April!! You sure did arrive quickly this year! April means more Spring flowers are blooming. My only wish is that some of these flowers would stay around a lot longer.
Our favorite stone hut here in the vineyard is the one that has Irises blooming out of its roof. When Spring arrives we always make sure to check on this hut as we know these beautiful rooftop blooms won’t last long.
Bob and I walked up there Sunday and were so excited to see the Irises starting to bloom.
Something so gorgeous should be shared and we did just that with Hanna. When we first moved here she was the one who told us about this hut. Monday, after she finished work she went home to get her handsome puppy Patch and returned to the vineyard for a walk with us.
The blue sky and the golden glow of the early evening light made the hut and Irises even more beautiful.
Fortunately for the bees but unfortunately for us, one of our fellow neighbors is now keeping bees next to this hut. Unfortunately, because there are Irises all around this hut but now we must be very careful even getting this close. A thousand acres and over twenty-five stone huts and the bees have to be next to the only one that has a blooming roof of Irises. 😦
There are lots more Irises to bloom so we will keep returning in the coming days to this special stone hut. That means I’ll be sharing more photos with all of you.
More photos from our walk to come tomorrow but I will end today’s post with photos of Patch. We were really trying to get some nice shots of him with the sunset in the background but he was having too much fun.
What incredible FUN!!!! I love iris. My Oregon garden has several colors of them. I don’t know if I’ll see them this year, They usually bloom in May, but they’ll need to get their stems in gear if they do so this spring!

I love them too. I’m still waiting for them to bloom outside our bedroom window where there is a mixture of yellow and purple ones.
