Signs of Spring are making appearances around the vineyard. This Winter has been dry compared to last year and I’ve noticed the difference in what is blooming now to this time last year. Everything in its own time though.
I went for a walk yesterday to get some fresh air, exercise, and inspiration. This time last year we were picking wild asparagus so I hunted for it a bit while I was out. I didn’t spend too much time looking so perhaps I could have found more than the three stalks I did find. This is the first stalk and the others were smaller.
The Irises are starting to bloom in some places but in others, they seem to have a long way to go.

Love this color!!
So delicate!
‘Bloom where you are planted.’
This color!
‘It was one of those March days when the sun shines hot and the wind blows cold: when it is summer in the light, and winter in the shade.’
~Charles Dickens, Great Expectations
Yes, it is this silent. Just the breeze through the pines. If only I could quiet the thoughts in my head this much.
A burst of white caught my eye! More gorgeous delicate white flowers.
Daffodils along the lane outside our bedroom window completed my walk and made me smile.
‘If you truly love Nature, you will find beauty everywhere.’

Is that Scotch Broom??? I’ve not seen that in years! The stuff is rampant where we used to live on the Oregon coast. I liked it, but I was in the definite minority. I think spring is almost here, finally, too. I saw some crocus peeping out of the ground today!!

Kris, I’m not sure what it is but I’ll find out. I love it!
Woohoo for the peeping crocuses. Is all your snow gone?
