Are you hot or cold?

Last year about this time I wrote this post “August. August in Spain. August is hot.” It is still true of course. Today reaching temperatures of 93°F (feels like 97°F). In Celsius that is about 34° (feels like 36°). Tomorrow it is supposed to be hotter. Lovely.

We were supposed to drive to Girona tomorrow to watch Bob’s favorite soccer team Tottenham play Girona. Well, we have changed our minds about going as the temperature is supposed to be 100°F. Even at game time in the evening it will be hot. We will watch the game on TV from home.

This past week we bought 2 portable air conditioning units for the house. It by no means makes it cold like central air but we don’t need that. We just want to take the edge off and be comfortable…not lethargic. What a difference!

Of course it is a cold winter in other parts of the world right now. For those of you who are cold I offer this photo and video.

And for those of us trying to cool off from the heat of summer I offer this photo and video.

These photos and videos are to remind ourselves that this too shall pass. We may be complaining about being cold or hot right now but it will change as it does every year. Hang in there.

“Weather is a great metaphor for life — sometimes it’s good, sometimes it’s bad, and there’s nothing much you can do about it but carry an umbrella or choose to dance in the rain!”
