A walk in the woods

A walk in the woods a few weeks ago with Hanna allowed me to visit a part of the vineyard property that I hadn’t seen before. I told you about the old olive tree in this post. There were others that were captivating as well. Like this one. Do you think it was annoyed by the other tree/vine becoming attached to it? Or did it welcome the companionship of its new friend?

It’s always important to notice the little things around you.

This little critter blends in so well that at first, I thought it was part of the plant…that was until I noticed its little beady eyes.

I always love sunlight through the trees.

“There is a way that nature speaks, that land speaks. Most of the time we are simply not patient enough, quiet enough to pay attention to the story.”

“To find the universal elements enough; to find the air and the water exhilarating; to be refreshed by a morning walk or an evening saunter; to be thrilled by the stars at night; to be elated over a bird’s nest or a wildflower in spring — these are some of the rewards of the simple life.”

~John Burroughs
