And just when I needed my Mom this Christmas there she was. Little notes to remind me that she is always with me.
As huge fans of everything Mary Engelbreit my Mom and I often exchanged gifts of her products to each other. This Christmas book is one that she gave me.
She wrote this note to me in the inside cover. It doesn’t matter how many times I read it each year…I still cry.
Dr. Gaffney was the doctor who delivered me and she had told me his words many times over the years. 🙂
She also marked another page…naming it “Xan’s page.”
I miss sharing our love of Christmas together. I miss exchanging meaningful gifts like this. After she passed away almost five years ago I didn’t feel like ever celebrating again. But she would have hated that.
I am not a fan of fruitcake but my Mom made the best. I’ll end today’s post with this gem that she sent to us with the last fruitcakes she made.
How can I not read this and instead of crying…have a good laugh? Things to treasure.
I hope that people are still writing and keeping notes like this in our totally consuming digital world these days. What treasures they are. ♥♥♥
What great memories. My mom is not in the digital world so I have many similar notes that I treasure.
Merry Christmas
Gail
