What if you took a chance? What if you followed your dream?
I have been absent from blogging, and I really do miss it. When we moved to Spain, I was blogging 5-6 times a week. The adventure had just started, and I wanted to share it with everyone. However, part of this dream and adventure was for me to follow my dream of being an author.
Well, today I can share that my debut novel, Blue Heron Cove, is now available on Amazon.
Oh, this book took a lot longer than I expected. I thought I would just sit at the computer and the words would pour out. What I didn’t realize is how much I had to learn about the craft and the business side of being an author. I listened to some people that I shouldn’t have and tried to follow writing methods that just didn’t work for me.
With hard work and perseverance, I finished the first draft and sent it to my editor. Then the real work came. Making it a better book. Learning more about the craft. Making changes to my story. Again, this process took longer than I wanted but it was worth it.
When I received the first copy last week, Bob took photos of me opening the package. Many authors do this and share photos or videos. Well, I ugly cried! Bad. So, I’ll just skip sharing those photos. I will share the posts I’ve been making on social media.
What an exciting time! People are now sharing photos of them holding my book…more ugly tears on my part. Tears of absolute joy!
Book 2 in the series is actually set here, where we live in Spain. Hopefully, I will find the time to share more of the journey on this page while I’m writing that book.
