Ah, what a year so far. This cold has made the start of the new year not very fun. Yesterday is truthfully the first day I have felt human again. Gosh, it is amazing how much a simple cold can knock you down.
Yesterday, I was finally able to sit at my desk and be productive. For that I am grateful. I will admit that I have spent a bit of time this week being annoyed that I was sick and not able to do anything on my to-do list. That’s life though.
Late yesterday morning I went out to pick up a load of firewood as the weather forecast for today was rain. Loading wet firewood into the car and stacking it is not my idea of fun. After I stacked the wood I stood in the garden admiring the lemon tree that is loaded down with ripening lemons as well as the flowers that are still blooming. Many plants have gone into their winter slumber as have the vines in the vineyard.
Scattered throughout the vineyard are Almond trees and they have begun blooming as if Spring is just around the corner. I really didn’t want to break my productive day in the office but the blue sky and sunshine beckoned me out to the vineyard and to see the largest of the Almond trees already bursting with blooms. It is just stunning.
See what I mean!? Stunning! And set against that gorgeous blue sky. I’m glad I took the time away from my to-do list to enjoy it.
Yes, indeed, I agree – stunning. Thank you for sharing the photos. You were wise to take time out of your to-do list to enjoy the beauty around you. I’m glad you’re feeling better too! I hope you have a wonderful weekend!!!

Such fragile beauty! The petals look like they are barely hanging on. I love spring. Itās like a jubilant scented winter.

This is wonderful, “jubilant scented winter.” Love that.
Now that I can breathe again and my cold is gone I need to smell the Almond blossoms because they are heavenly.
