Harvest continues here in Viladellops. Bob and I went for a walk yesterday afternoon to check out the progress. We were hoping to dodge the rain that seemed sure to come.
It was a dark and stormy…
These guys and gals work so hard. Sun, heat, rain, humidity. How many of us could do this or any other manual labor yet still fill the air with laughter?
Bob always willing to get close and ask questions. Whereas I tend to stand back and watch and take photos.
This was the cloud we were watching closely as it moved in. I said we should just keep walking as we would be under the cover of some trees soon.
Bob was smarter and had a much better idea. Take cover in one of the stone huts.
It is just incredible how they built these with the stones/rocks supporting each other as the walls angle in.
The vineyard workers kept on working until the sky opened up. Then there was an eruption of laughter as they all ran for the van to take cover. Some using the empty buckets to cover their heads.
Once the rain subsided we emerged from the stone hut to a slightly cooler breeze.
Back to work…
The sun doing her best to brighten the sky.
Thank you wonderful stone hut for keeping us dry. Thanks Bob for the good idea.
We continued on our walk through the vineyard as the dark clouds moved ahead of us.
I do love the coalescence of the cloud formations and the leaves of the vines.
