If I Could Paint

If I could paint, I think sunrises and sunsets would be the focus of my masterpieces. I would start with the painting the sky that incredible blue. You know, that color of blue that is hard to describe. Next the golden sun still with its yellow tinge.

A stroke of pink here. A stroke of purple there. A dab of purple under this cloud to give it depth. A deeper pink above the lingering sun.

A quick stroke of white through the sky to show where the jet trails linger.

I would paint in a vine or two and a tree or two. These will help remind us how small we are in the grand scheme of the universe.

Of course, I would have to keep adding more and more purples and pinks until the entire sky glowed and cast a soft light over the landscape.

If only I could paint…
